IMPORTANT NOTE: PACE has extended the nomination deadline to April 17, 2024. There is still time to nominate a deserving community member or organization!
The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2024 Benjamin Cooper Awards are now open! The deadline submit a nomination is April 8, 2024. For more information about the awards, visit the Cooper Awards page here. Winners will be announced in early May, and the awards will be formally presented at the 2024 NSC in Reston, VA in June.
Please submit any questions and all nomination statements to PACE’s Vice President of Outreach, Jay Winter, at outreach@pace-nsc.org. Winners are chosen by a vote of the PACE membership. Nomination statements should be no more than 1,000 words and explain the nominee’s contributions to quizbowl and how, in your opinion, they have contributed to the “spirit and honor of quizbowl competition.”
PACE welcomes re-nomination of those nominated in previous years who have continued to contribute to the quizbowl community. Organizations are eligible for nomination, as are small groups of individuals who have collaborated on their quizbowl work. The Cooper Awards are primarily intended to honor contributions to the high school quizbowl community.
Two awards are given to deserving individuals or groups each year:
The Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador Award is presented to a community member or quizbowl organization that has gone above and beyond to promote and facilitate high-quality high school quizbowl and embodies by example the spirit of our great game.
The Benjamin Cooper Young Ambassador Award is presented to a deserving community member under the age of 25 (usually in high school or college) who, despite their young age, has made significant contributions to high school quizbowl.
