  • PACE Announces 2025 National Scholastic Championship

The Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence (PACE) is pleased to announce that the 2025 National Scholastic Championship (NSC) will be held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, IL on the weekend of June 7-8, 2025.

The NSC, now in its 27th iteration, brings together the top high school quizbowl teams from all across the country. They will compete over two days of matches, vying for the ultimate title of national champion.

This will be the fifth time the NSC will be held in Rosemont. The Hyatt Regency O’Hare played host to the championship in 2016, 2017, 2022, and 2023, and PACE looks forward to continuing our partnership to bring teams a high-quality tournament in the NSC tradition.

High schools will be able to qualify for the NSC by participating in local affiliated tournaments and finishing in the top 20%.

The NSC is currently limited to 72 teams, and registration will open to qualified teams on November 1, 2024.

The 2024 NSC took place at the Hyatt Regency Reston on June 8-9, 2024, and featured 72 teams from 18 states and DC. Barrington High School of Barrington, IL won their second straight championship after posting a 14-2 record over two days of play.

Quizbowl is a buzzer based academic competition played between two teams of up to 4 players. Questions cover a wide range of academic topics including literature, history, science, and the arts. Quizbowl is played by high school students all across the United States.
